Curia – Albuquerque, NM, USA
Commercial sterile fill-finish offering flexibility across vials, syringes and cartridges.
Curia’s Albuquerque facility supports late-phase clinical and commercial manufacturing of sterile injectable small molecules and biologics in vials, prefilled syringes and cartridges. A $200 million expansion adds isolator-based technology and high-speed capacity to a four-building campus with more than 40 years of sterile drug product experience.

What this site does
Small-scale aseptic filling for vials, syringes and cartridges
The qualified VarioSys Flex Line combines Bausch+Stroebel filling modules with a SKAN isolator, nested ready-to-use components and peristaltic pumps. It supports batch sizes up to 400 L and is ideal for complex products that require minimal line loss.
Large-scale commercial vial filling with integrated lyophilization
The new isolator-based line can handle 1,000 L batches and run at speeds up to 400 vials per minute, depending on vial size. It pairs a Bausch+Stroebel filler and SKAN isolator with two 40-square-meter IMA lyophilizers and supports 2R–30R vials, automated visual inspection, and automated labeling and packaging.
Partnering on your most challenging projects
The site supports microfluidization, high-shear homogenization and extrusion for solutions, suspensions, emulsions, liposomal and nanoparticle formulations. Albuquerque can aseptically formulate and fill products with viscosities of 10,000+ cP in liquid or lyophilized form.
Commercial drug product manufacturing across small molecules and biologics
Capabilities span small molecules, proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies, and more. BSL-2 formulation and filling infrastructure extends support for relevant biologic and vaccine programs for both liquid and lyophilized products.
DEA registered facility with deep expertise handling controlled substances
Albuquerque supports schedule III–V controlled substances.
In-house testing and downstream operations
Full in-house QC and microbiology services, including sterility testing, sit alongside stability services. Visual inspection, vial labeling and cartoning, and ultra-cold storage down to –80°C help keep critical post-fill activities within the Albuquerque campus.
Why clients love this site
Capacity matched to the program
Flexible and high-speed lines create options across fill format, batch size and throughput – from lower-volume multi-format batches to large commercial vial runs.
Experience with technically demanding injectables
The Albuquerque team works with high-viscosity, suspension, emulsion, liposomal, nanoparticle, potent and controlled substance products across small molecules and biologics.
Commercial execution proven under pressure
During Operation Warp Speed, the site produced more than 70 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate.
Aseptic training built into the site
Sterile University gives employees hands-on practice in a simulated sterile manufacturing environment modeled on the site’s equipment, operations and protocols.
How this site fits into Curia’s network
Camarillo contributes formulation development expertise and clinical aseptic manufacturing in vials, syringes and cartridges at 0.5–100 L bulk scale for clinical-stage programs. It provides a logical bridge into Albuquerque when a program needs larger U.S. commercial capacity.
Glasgow adds formulation, lyophilization development and clinical vial manufacturing for complex and highly potent products, including ADCs. It extends Curia’s sterile drug product network for programs that need UK-based development and manufacturing before or alongside commercial supply.
